Job Description

As a Handroll Project Server, you play a vital role in providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Your responsibilities include warmly welcoming guests, assisting them in finding suitable seating, taking orders, offering menu recommendations, and accommodating special requests. You will be expected to deliver food and beverages with precision and professionalism, all while ensuring a clean and organized dining area. Additionally, you will be responsible for opening and closing tasks to prepare for future operations.

Key Responsibilities

Greeting and Seating Guests:

• Warmly welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Assist guests in finding suitable seating based on their preferences and the restaurant's availability.
• Ensure the dining area is well-organized and presentable.

Taking Orders:

• Provide guests with menus and offer assistance in understanding menu items.
• Take accurate orders from guests, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
• Relay orders to the kitchen promptly and accurately.

Menu Knowledge and Recommendations

• Maintain a deep understanding of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods.
• Make knowledgeable menu recommendations to guests based on their preferences.
• Be prepared to answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and allergens.

Food and Beverage Service:

• Serve food and drinks to guests with precision and attention to detail.
• Ensure that orders are delivered to the correct guests.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and address any issues or requests promptly and courteously.

Cleanliness and Organization:

• Maintain a clean and tidy dining area throughout the shift.
• Reset and clean tables promptly after guests leave to prepare for new arrivals.
• Assist in restocking condiments, utensils, and other dining essentials.

Opening and Closing Tasks:

• Perform opening duties, including setting up tables, checking inventory, and ensuring the restaurant is prepared for service.
• Complete closing tasks, such as cleaning, restocking, and preparing for the next shift.

Requirements

• Experience at Japanese cuisine is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve guest concerns.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Standing, reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 20 lbs is standard.
